The Heart Institute for Children (THIC) , founded in 1987, is dedicated to clinical excellence, education and research in the field of congenital and acquired heart disease in children and young adults. Clinical care includes the latest and the most advanced technology. Research is directed towards clinical cardiology as well as basic molecular biology. THIC has several campuses, each providing pediatric cardiac services to their respective communities. Whereas there are 3 distinct groups of cardiologists at each campus, pediatric cardiac surgery is provided by a single team of 4 pediatric cardiac surgeons under the direction of Dr. Michel N. Ilbawi. The director of the Heart Institute for Children is Dr. Pipit Chiemmongkoltip.
